Dan grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated from Jefferson High School in 2007.  He attended Mount Mercy University for his undergraduate education where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011, with majors in Criminal Justice and Political Science.  Dan graduated from Drake University Law School with High Honors in 2014 and was admitted to practice in Iowa that same year.

Dan joined Nazette Marner Nathanson Knoll LLP in 2023, where his practice focuses on family law, juvenile law, and criminal defense.

Prior to joining Nazette Marner Nathanson Knoll LLP, Dan practiced family law and criminal defense in Cedar Rapids before spending seven and a half years working in Independence, Iowa as an Assistant Buchanan County Attorney, where he handled the juvenile court docket (Delinquencies, Child in Need of Assistance, and Mental Health Committals), prosecution of simple misdemeanors and traffic crimes, and civil legal matters for the County.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys reading, spending time with his wife and two daughters, taking small weekend trips with the family to zoos and botanical gardens and volunteering with his church.
